The Red Kebaya Charity Premiere
In his costume designs for the movie The Red Kebaya, our principal fashion designer Shamsu Yusof recreated the look and feel of the late 1950s with astonishing historical accuracy. Made in the Margaret McCallum workshop, Shamsu’s designs won critical acclaim, with one reviewer calling the ‘awesome costumes’ a ‘highlight of this film’ and even asserting that ‘the star of the film is the show-stopping red kebaya worn by Vanidah Imran’.

Margaret McCallum also organised the charity premiere of The Red Kebaya, held on 22 November 2006 at Tanjong Golden Village, KLCC, in aid of the new children’s charity campaign ‘Rising Above’.
